March 24 webcast with scholar, author and commentator Stephen J. Wayne
Sharing the U.S. experience of a peaceful presidential transition can provide a model for other democracies.
Join us on March 24, at 10 a.m. EDT (14:00 GMT), for the webcast of a program aimed at explaining American democracy to an Egyptian audience. The audience will be composed of academics, university students, professors, alumni of U.S.-funded exchange programs and others interested in political science and U.S. history. Our guest will be Dr. Stephen J. Wayne.
Stephen J. Wayne is a professor of government at Georgetown University. He is the author of the book The Road to the White House and an expert on the American presidency. He has been a scholarly, Washington-based "insider" for 35 years, writing, lecturing and commenting on the contemporary presidency. A much-quoted source for journalists covering the White House, he frequently appears on television and radio news programs. He has testified before Congress and committees of both major political parties and has served as a consultant for television documentaries on the presidency.
