Obama Adviser to Discuss Online Outreach in Political Campaigns

March 26 webchat with Obama 2008 new media director Joe Rospars

How have new media changed the way candidates run for office? Please join Joe Rospars on March 26 at 10 a.m. EDT (14:00 GMT, 1600 Minsk) for an online discussion on the topic of online outreach. Rospars will also discuss how new media were used during President Obama’s campaign for the White House.

Joe Rospars was the new media director for Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign for president of the United States. Utilizing Web and video content as well as mass e-mail and text messaging, he led a wide-ranging effort that produced unprecedented results in fundraising, communications and grassroots mobilization.

Rospars is a founding partner of Blue State Digital, an Internet strategy and communications firm in Washington. He also worked on the Howard Dean campaign in the 2004 Democratic presidential primary, including the influential Blog for America.
