March 18 CO.NX global forum with judge who is also Maryland’s first lady
What is it like to be a mother, a judge and the first lady of Maryland? Please join Judge Katie O'Malley on March 18 at 11 a.m. EDT (15:00 GMT) for an online discussion on women's rights, life in the judiciary and balancing her roles in the political sphere with her roles as a mother and wife.
Katie O'Malley is an associate judge of the District Court of Baltimore City in Maryland. In January 2007, she became the first lady of Maryland when her husband, Martin O'Malley, took office as governor. Together they have four children.
Before her appointment as associate judge, Judge O’Malley served on many boards and committees. She was also a prosecutor who worked on cases from simple misdemeanors to complex homicides. She handled many domestic violence cases and child abuse cases as well.
