La présente édition de eJournal USA aborde l'activité scientifique comme une entreprise fondamentalement internationale, où les chercheurs au sein d'une communauté d'envergure planétaire se communiquent les résultats de leurs travaux dans le cadre d'une gamme toujours croissante de programmes réalisés en collaboration, de revues techniques et de conférences, ainsi que par l'internet et par des réseaux à haut débit consacrés particulièrement à la recherche et à l'éducation. Cette revue contient de nombreux exemples des contributions de premier plan qu'apportent les États-Unis à ces travaux internationaux.
